Privacy Policy

This Privacy policy explains how we use your Personal Data:  how it is collected, how it is held, and how it is processed.  It also explains your rights under the law relating to your Personal Data.


For the purposes of the General Data protection regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection legislation, Compass Christian Centre (the Centre) is a data ‘Controller’ and is responsible for the Personal Data you provide to us.  We only collect Basic Data about you which does not include any ‘special category’ types of information (which includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data) or location-based information. This however does include name, address, contact numbers plus email address etc.


We understand that your privacy is important to you and that you care about how your Personal Data is used. We respect and value the privacy of all of our customers and supporters, and we will only collect and use data in ways that are described here, and in a way that is consistent with our obligations and your rights under law.


We need to obtain and process your personal information in order to provide you with information about the Centre, booking information, offers, marketing, support or help required. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide or oversee this service to you.


What is Personal Data

Personal data, or personal information is, in simpler terms, any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. Personal data covers obvious information such as your name and contact details, but it also covers less obvious information such as identification numbers, electronic location data, and other online identifiers.

We may collect some or all of the following Personal Data according to your relationship with us.

Name / Date of Birth / Gender / Address / Email Address / Telephone Number / Business Name / IP Address / Geographical Location

Payment Information / Information about your preferences and Interests in connection with The Centre. 


How Do We Use Your Personal Data

Under GDPR, we must always have a lawful basis for using Personal Data.  This may be that the data is necessary for the performance of The Centre, or a contract that we have with you.  For example, when you come to stay at the Centre, because you have consented to our use of your Personal Data to keep you informed about The Centre i.e. events or the development of our facilities.  Your Personal Data may be used for one of the following purposes:

 Providing and managing your bookings with us.

Supplying our services to you.  Your personal details are required in order for us to enter into a contract with you.

 Communication. In order to keep you informed, we may need to, on a regular basis, forward to you details of what is going on within the organisation.  

 Personalising and tailoring our products and services for you.

 Supplying further information about The Centre that you have consented to receive from us (you may unsubscribe or opt-out at any time by either emailing or phoning our main office)


With your permission and where permitted within the law, we may also use your Personal Data for information and marketing purposes, which may include contacting you by telephone or email, with information, news and offers plus availability for Centre usage. You will not be sent any unlawful marketing or spam.  We will always work to protect your rights and fully comply with our own obligations as set out by the GDPR and the Private Electronic Communications Regulations (EC Directive 2003) and you will always have the opportunity to opt out.


How Long We Keep Your Information.

We are required under the UK law to keep your Basic Personal Data including name, address and contact details.  Your information we hold for marketing, booking and support purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive any more information or do not have further need to make use of this organisation.  More information on our Retention Schedule can be found via the link below.


How do we store your data

All the personal data we process is done so by our Head Office staff based here at Compass Christian Centre, Scotland.  For purposes of IT hosting, this information is located on a server situated within Compass Christian Centre, plus a web based marketing server located within the European Union.  

*No 3rdparties have access to your personal data unless the law permits them to do so.*

Paper copies of any Personal Data are stored in locked cabinets which are located within our office which is locked outside of normal working hours.

What Are Your Rights

The right to be informed about our collection and use of your personal data. This Privacy Notice should tell you everything you need to know, but you can always contact us to find out more.

The right to access the personal data we hold about you. 

The right to have your personal data rectified if any of your personal data held by us is inaccurate or incomplete. Please contact our Data Protection Officer using the details below to find out more.
